Workers of the largest casinos in Kazakhstan will stop hunger strike

Earlier, more than 400 employees of the gambling establishment Altyn Alma City started a hunger strike in connection with delays in wages. According to information from employees, the owner of the casino owed them about 130 million tenge (about $ 380 thousand). Financial difficulties at the city’s first casino arose in connection with an increase in the tax rate.

It is reported that the administration of Almaty region took the matter under its control. During the inspection, which the regional administration appointed in relation to the owners of the casino, it became clear that LLP Penson Group and The Alma City had double bookkeeping. Officially, employees received significantly lower salaries than in fact. Most of the amount they were given “in envelopes.” The inspection determined the total amount of the debt to 168 employees – about 19 million tenge.

After the appropriate actions by the authorities, the debtors partially paid their salaries. As a result, the amount of debt decreased to 3 million tenge. 31 people are waiting for their money.

Let’s remind: by results of 2017 financial year demand for gambling services in Astana has increased.
